C.O.P.E. Prison Evangelism - Don & Norma Anderson
Our C.O.P.E. (Christian Outreach Prison Evangelism) ministry team visits inmates at Wayne Brown Correctional facility in Nevada City every Sabbath from 2pm-4pm. Bible studies are conducted in a classroom setting that lead inmates to
Christ and encourage lifestyle changes. For information on joining this ministry, contact Don & Norma Andersen

Shut-In Ministries

Taking friendship and encouragment to those confined to home.
Deaconess Card & Caring Ministry Mission:  To REACH our members and families, through card mailings, that they may know that we, the GV Deaconesses, CARE and want to express our feelings towards them, plus try to HELP with sincere words and our Prayers for some hopeful immediate comfort, and to help celebrate the blessings in their lives!


Pine Tree Quilt Guild 
The Quilt Guild "drop-in-and-quilt" meets from 1- 3pm the 3rd Thursday of each month.  Our combined efforts help supply many in the community, including fire victims, Women of Worth (an organization that helps disadvantaged women), nursing homes, the health department, and others in need.
No special skills are required, help is needed with sorting, pressing fabric, tying quilts, or sewing quilt tops. Contact Betty King.

Interfaith Food Ministry (IFM) - Diane Chang
GVSDA actively supports IFM in their effort to feed the hungry in Nevada County. To volunteer contact IFM or Diane Chang.

Homeless Ministries 

GVSDA actively assists Hospitality House by providing meals to the homeless in our community once a month at Utah's Place.

Haiti Mission Project:
Started by Reg KingJim Henderson and Harry Beach, the Haiti Mission Clinic was established in Arno, Haiti in 1993. They now operate a medical clinic, build and support private church-schools, and engages in various missionary activities in Haiti, through a foreign program called Haiti Mission Outreach.
